For four decades Hitching Post Wines have been produced by Gray Hartley, who was a commercial Alaskan salmon fisherman, and Frank Ostini, the chef/owner of the Hitching Post Restaurant in Buellton, CA. From a backyard hobby to a highly recognized winemaking enterprise their focus has been Pinot Noir since 1981. Along with their 10 Pinot Noirs, they make Syrah, a Merlot, a blend called Gen Red and a Ros√©. Hitching Post Wines now has a tasting room next door to the HP2 restaurant in Buellton.
